Learn WordPress

You’ve heard the stories and the statistics. You know how WordPress is the best platform for your business website or blog, and perhaps both! You know how flexible this platform is. You know it’s great when it comes to SEO. And literally, has no limitations when it comes to designing and implementing features unlike some other cookie-cutter, drag-and-drop platforms out there.

There’s just one problem.

Perhaps you’re not savvy enough to navigate this uber cool, but a rather intricate platform on your own without some hand-holding and guidance.

That’s what my training programs are for. Each of the three programs is geared towards helping you achieve your next level of WordPress expertise.

If you already have sufficient knowledge of WordPress, my advance training program can help you do what I do, create completely custom websites with WordPress for clients.

If you are somewhat proficient, the intermediate program can help you so you can start earning a decent side income setting up pre-made templates for your clients.

And if your goal is not to offer these services, but rather be able to maintain your own WordPress based website yourself without the help of a hired hand, and still feel confident that your site will continue to perform admirably, efficiently, and securely, then you may be a right fit for the beginner’s program.

All of the sessions are held over Zoom. The sessions are recorded so that you can refer back to them or review them as you see fit.

Feel free to schedule a 30-minute discovery call on my calendar if you want to learn more about each learning path and find out what’s the right place for you to start.

Three Different Programs to Take You to the Next Level of WordPress

Advanced

This is for the ones who wish to understand the ins and outs of WordPress theme development. This module is meant for the serious students who wish to make a full time living off of WordPress design and development.

This module goes deep into how the platform works, each component of a basic theme, page structures, WordPress codex, and more! We also look at advanced security features, search engine optimization, template customization, etc.

The student is required to purchase their own domain and hosting during the program, unless they already own both (approx. $58+ for a whole year), and have prior working knowledge of HTML and CSS. Some basic understanding of PHP and JavaScript is helpful but not required.

At the completion of this course, the student is expected to be able to take on clients and create custom WordPress based websites or customize an already existing template for clients.

This course is expected to last 10-15 hours and the student will be assigned homework that they are expected to complete in order to understand and internalize the material being taught. After the first 15 hours, if needed, the student can purchase additional hours at the rate of $150 per hour.

(Or, two payments of $850.)

Intermediate

In this module, we look at how to set up a WordPress website, how to set up WooCommerce, how to follow directions from a WordPress theme document, how to secure a WordPress website with plugins as well as the database. We go deeper into website security, as well as search engine optimization, a.k.a. SEO.

This module takes 4-6 sessions each lasting 60-90 minutes. The student is assigned some homework that they are expected to finish. For this module, the student is required to purchase their own domain and hosting during this program in order to successfully complete the course materials, unless they own both already (approx. $58+ for a whole year). Some previous knowledge of HTML and CSS is helpful, but not required.

At the end of this module, the student should be able to set up their own website on WordPress, and may even offer basic WordPress installation services to clients!

After the first 6 sessions, if needed, the student can purchase additional hours at the rate of $150 per hour.

Beginner

This for the newbie WordPress user wanting to manage their own website after a professional developer had initially set up the WordPress site.

This module is not for the one wanting to learn to code. Instead, this goes deep into how to maintain a WordPress website, how to take care of basic security, and how to add and update content, widgets, plugins, and the built-in features of WordPress.

This program usually takes about three 60-90-minute sessions and can be customized to reflect site maintenance with the student’s current theme.

Student’s own domain name or hosting are good to have but are not required. You’ll have administrator-level access to one of my sites throughout the of the program. No prior knowledge of HTML or CSS is required either.

After two sessions, if needed, the student can purchase additional hours at the rate of $150 per hour.
